Complete Sets & Arsenal Team Sets
Two different things get called "a set", and confusing them is the most common Arsenal buying mistake. A factory complete set is the entire base checklist of a release, sealed by the manufacturer. An Arsenal team set is the Gunners subset pulled out of a wider release — assembled by a seller, or by you, from the checklist.
Factory set vs team set vs master set
Three terms, three completely different purchases. This is the reference that decides which listing you should be reading.
| Factory / complete set | The full base checklist of one release, boxed and sealed by the manufacturer. It contains every club in the set, so Arsenal is a handful of cards inside it. Base only — inserts, parallels and autographs are not included. |
|---|---|
| Team set | The Arsenal cards out of a release, and nothing else. Not a product the manufacturer prints on its own: it is a subset defined by the checklist and assembled by whoever is selling it. This is what most people searching for "Arsenal team set" actually want. |
| Master set | Base plus every insert and parallel from a release — the completionist target. For a modern release with a deep colour ladder this is a multi-year project, and for serial-numbered tiers it may not be finishable at all. |
| How team-set numbering works | Team-set cards keep the card numbers of the parent release; they are not renumbered 1–12. That is why building one means working from the parent checklist and tracking the numbers you are missing. |
| Buying assembled vs building it | A ready-made team-set lot is normally cheaper than assembling the same cards single by single, but you inherit the seller’s condition on every card. Read the photos, not the grade language in the title. |
No factory-sealed complete sets listed right now
Factory sets for the licensed European soccer releases are printed irregularly and we only list product we can verify is in stock. If it is an Arsenal team set you are after, that is a different purchase anyway — and it has a dedicated page here, with the Gunners subset laid out by card number.
